Want to Get a Head Start?

If you’d like to gain some hands-on experience before diving into Level 2, consider starting with the Learn to Swim Helper course or the SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification to get a head start! These courses give you the foundations and confidence to assist a qualified Level 2 swimming teacher effectively. Not everyone learns best by jumping straight into intensive training. If you enjoy taking your time, building skills gradually, and boosting your confidence in a supportive environment, this relaxed route is perfect for you!
What’s Changed from the Previous Level 2?

Under the previous system, aspiring swimming teachers had to complete two separate qualifications; Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) followed by Level 2 Teaching Swimming, before they could teach independently. The new one-step SEQ Level 2 in Teaching Swimming removes this barrier, allowing learners to progress directly into a single, comprehensive qualification and qualify more quickly with still upholding the current high standards.
